TULSA, Okla. — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa will welcome legendary Texas troubadours Steve Earle with Reckless Kelly at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at Hard Rock Live inside the casino as part of the “Country Comes To Town” summer concert series.
A true pioneer of the Americana genre, Steve Earle has built a career on his raw storytelling and unfiltered musical approach. Rising to fame in the mid-'80s with his breakout album “Guitar Town,” Earle quickly became known for his hard-hitting lyrics and genre-blending sound.
His signature hit, “Copperhead Road,” became an anthem and was officially designated as a state song of Tennessee in 2023. Over the years, Earle has released multiple Grammy Award-winning albums, including “The Revolution Starts...Now,” “Washington Square Serenade” and “TOWNES.” One of his recent projects, “Jerry Jeff” (2022), pays tribute to his late mentor, Jerry Jeff Walker. He is also a master storyteller, and his work has been recorded by legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders and countless others.
Beyond music, Earle is a celebrated author, actor and radio host, with credits spanning from HBO’s “The Wire” and “Tremé” to the acclaimed off-Broadway performance “Samara.” In 2020, he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.
Joining Earle on stage is Reckless Kelly, the award-winning band that has been a cornerstone of the Americana and Outlaw Country scene for nearly three decades. Fronted by brothers Willy and Cody Braun, the band has garnered critical acclaim for their seamless fusion of country and rock, earning a Grammy Award and multiple industry accolades. Originally from Idaho, the Brauns relocated to Austin, Texas, where their high-energy performances and exceptional songwriting quickly made them a staple of the Texas music scene. The band's signature event, The Braun Brothers Reunion, recently marked its 40th year, drawing top-tier talent and thousands of fans to Idaho. As they approach a new chapter in their career, Reckless Kelly is preparing to scale back on traditional touring while still writing, recording and performing select live shows.
Tickets start at $47.50 and go on sale March 21.
