TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee Nation Health Services now offers a real-time mobile patient intake and contactless check-in platform at each of its 11 health care facilities across the tribe’s reservation.
The new check-in platform was implemented to provide a seamless, easy, and engaging way for patients to complete consent forms, upload images, and update intakes at their convenience.
“This new check-in platform represents our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality health care services to Cherokee citizens and all who use our health centers,” Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. said. “By embracing innovative technology, we're not only improving the patient experience but also increasing the efficiency of our health care system. This initiative aligns with our mission to continually enhance and modernize our health services for the benefit of all Cherokee people.”
In advance of future appointments, patients can speed up their registration process by confirming their appointment via mobile text message and receiving a secure Cherokee Nation link to begin a pre-visit intake.
The new check-in platform will offer three convenient ways for a patient to check in upon arrival at any Cherokee Nation Health Services location:
• Scan a QR code
• Sign in using a kiosk
• Sign in with staff at the Registration desk
“The implementation of this real-time mobile patient intake and contactless check-in system across all our health facilities marks a significant step forward in our patient care approach,” said Dr. R. Stephen Jones, Cherokee Nation Health Services CEO and Executive Director. “This technology will streamline the check-in process, reduce wait times, and allow our medical staff to focus more on patient care. It's a perfect example of how we're leveraging technology to improve health outcomes and patient satisfaction throughout the Cherokee Nation.”
Patients should arrive 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled appointment to ensure they have plenty of time to complete their check-in process. If a line exists at a kiosk, it is recommended that patients utilize the QR code or registration desk.
Patients who initiate the pre-visit intake prior to their appointment are still required to complete their check-in process once they arrive to the clinic. This process lets the care team know that they are ready to be seen.
Patients who do not complete a pre-visit intake at home can still complete their intake and check in at the clinic by utilizing a QR code, kiosk, or registration desk.
An appointment must be scheduled for patients to utilize the QR code or kiosk. Walk-in patients are required to check in via the registration desk.
Patients will not be able to use the QR code or kiosk to update their demographics after they have completed checking in for their appointment. Patients can instead seek registration staff to make any additional edits.
Patients will always be required to review their information on the kiosk at the end of their check-in process. Pressing the “Submit” tab will save all the information and alert the care team that the patient has arrived for their appointment.
