TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. will sign an executive order, launching a task force to expand Cherokee Nation Foundation’s mission to meet the needs of the philanthropic community throughout the reservation.
The foundation has operated successfully for more than 30 years, focused on empowering youth through scholarships and educational support to achieve academic success. Since its inception in 1996, the foundation has invested millions in scholarships that directly help educational outcomes for Cherokee students and ease financial burden for Cherokee families.
Chief Hoskin will charge the task force with leveraging the Foundation’s success and expanding its mission beyond education. The reimagined-and-relaunched Foundation would serve the broad interests of Cherokee Nation citizens and join a global philanthropic community.
