TUNICA, Miss. — Gold Strike Casino & Resort, the Mid-South’s premier casino resort destination, will welcome ’90s country icon Pam Tillis to the Gold Strike Theatre stage on Friday, Feb. 19, 2027, at 8 p.m.
A Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, Grand Ole Opry member and accomplished actress, Tillis has built a career that has stood the test of time — producing numerous hits and securing her a spot among the most iconic female country artists of a generation.
Tillis has generated six No. 1 hits, including “Shake the Sugar Tree,” “Mi Vida Loca,” “When You Walk in the Room,” “In Between Dances,” “Don’t Tell Me What to Do” and her signature song, “Maybe It Was Memphis.”
The daughter of country music legend Mel Tillis and multimedia artist Doris Tillis, she broke into the country music scene with her 1991 debut album, “Put Yourself in My Place,” which was certified gold and produced two No. 1 and two Top 5 singles. Her next three albums, “Homeward Looking Angel,” “Sweetheart’s Dance” and “Greatest Hits,” were all certified platinum.
Tillis’ most recent album, 2020’s “Looking for a Feeling,” returned her to one of her earliest passions: songwriting, where she wrote seven of the album’s 11 tracks, drawing on the country-rock sounds that influenced her during her formative musical years.
Today, Tillis embraces a more relaxed chapter of her career, focusing on mentoring younger musicians, including members of her all-female acoustic trio, The Rose Rustlers. Tillis has also recorded and toured with Lorrie Morgan as the group Grits and Glamour, and she performed with fellow female country artists Suzy Bogguss and Terri Clark for Chicks With Hits, sharing songs and stories from their careers in country music.
Tillis has appeared in films, including “The Thing Called Love” and “The Neon Highway,” performed in the Broadway production of “Smokey Joe’s Café,” and earned television credits on shows such as “L.A. Law,” “Diagnosis: Murder,” “Promised Land,” “Drag Race” and “Nashville.”
