ROLAND, Okla. — Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland and Cherokee Casino Grove are welcoming Oklahoma Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Wade Hayes for two consecutive nights in May. Hayes will perform at Lee Creek Tavern at 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland, followed by a performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at 1897 Bar at Cherokee Casino Grove.
Hayes is a celebrated country music artist known for his rich baritone voice, heartfelt songwriting and deep reverence for traditional country roots. He debuted in 1994 with the gold-certified album “Old Enough To Know Better,” whose title track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Hayes has released eight studio albums, including “On a Good Night” and “When the Wrong One Loves You Right.” His hits "I'm Still Dancin' With You,” "Don't Stop,” "What I Meant to Say,” "On a Good Night” and "The Day That She Left Tulsa (in a Chevy)” all charted in the Billboard Top 10.
His most recent album, “Old Country Still Rocks,” pays tribute to his musical heroes – from Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard to Willie Nelson – showcasing his signature style and deep connection to classic country. The album features powerful covers of timeless hits like “Whiskey River,” “I’m Over You” and “Here I Am,” along with the original title track that inspired the project and celebrates the enduring spirit of honky-tonk legends.
