TULSA, Okla. – From Michigan to Tennessee, Nate Barnes is bringing his unique blend of blues and country music to Track 5. inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa for a free performance on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m.
There is a unification of blues and country that can be heard in Barnes’ own music and in his vocal performances. At once humble and passionate, laced with both a textured grit and a calming smoothness, Barnes’ voice personifies the aching heartache of the blues and the determined perseverance of country music.
Though he spent years playing in bars, coffee shops, small venues, and festivals in and around his hometown of South Haven, Michigan, Barnes was discovered during a by-chance encounter when he met chart-topping songwriter Jason Sellers while passing through Nashville. A conversation led to a song and Sellers knew instantly that he’d met a true artist. He also knew that he had to introduce Barnes to music industry stalwarts.
Barnes is currently in the studio working with producers Mickey Jack Cones (Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett) and Derek George (Randy Houser) on his Quartz Hill Records debut. Barnes’ most recent single, “You Ain’t Pretty,” went on to receive over 12 million views on TikTok after its 2021 release.
