ROLAND, Okla. — Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland will welcome country hip-hop fusion artist Blanco Brown at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Lee Creek Tavern inside the casino.
Known for blending country twang with hip-hop and trap, Brown broke onto the national music scene with his viral 2019 hit, “The Git Up.” The infectious track climbed to No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a defining song of the country-rap movement, fueled in part by a popular dance challenge on YouTube and TikTok.
Brown, who grew up splitting his time between Butler, Georgia, and Atlanta, brings a unique musical perspective shaped by both small-town country roots and the energy of the city. He coined his signature sound “TrailerTrap,” a fusion of country and hip-hop that has become central to his artistry.
Before launching his career as a recording artist, Brown established himself as a producer and songwriter, working with artists including Pitbull and Fergie. He also produced the 2018 World Cup anthem “Goalie Goalie” before signing with Broken Bow Records.
Following the success of “The Git Up,” Brown released his debut album, “Honeysuckle & Lightning Bugs,” in 2019. The album reached No. 16 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and showcased his ability to combine country storytelling with contemporary hip-hop influences.
Brown continued building his catalog with songs including “I Need Love,” “Just the Way” featuring Parmalee and Bryce Vine, and “Nobody’s More Country.” In 2022, he teamed up with fellow Atlanta native T.I. for “Trap Still Bumpin,” the first track from their collaborative EP released in 2023.
The show is free to those 21 and older.
