TUNICA, Miss. — Gold Strike Casino Resort, the Mid-South’s premier casino resort destination, will welcome alternative rock greats Better Than Ezra at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, to the Gold Strike Theater inside the casino.
The New Orleans-bred band first broke through with its platinum-selling album “Deluxe” and its era-defining hit “Good,” earning it spots on Billboard’s lists of the “100 Greatest Alternative Artists of All Time” and “100 Greatest Alternative Songs of All Time.” The band has delivered chart-topping hits like “Desperately Wanting,” built a devoted fan base known as “Ezralites,” and cemented its place in pop culture with nods ranging from MTV fame to a classic “Saturday Night Live” skit.
The latest release, “Super Magick,” is the band's first studio album in a decade and showcases its continued evolution with a blend of genres ranging from Britpop and country to dub-inspired rock. Produced by frontman Kevin Griffin and Emery Dobyns, the record highlights the band’s signature mix of sticky melodies, clever storytelling and heartfelt rock-and-roll energy. The lead single, “Mystified,” explores themes of the American dream gone wrong, while tracks like “Live a Little” and “This Time” showcase the band’s knack for pairing emotional resonance with infectious hooks.
