The free sessions are aimed at educating the public about various aspects of Cherokee history and culture and will focus on curriculum that examines significant figures, events and more.
Upcoming lunch & learn sessions take place from noon to 1 p.m., and include the following:
Feb. 17 – “Native American Major Leaguers” presented by Cherokee Nation citizen Rob Daugherty. Author signing to follow.
March 25 – “1829 Georgia Gold Rush and Land Lottery” presented by Cherokee historical consultant LeeAnn Dreadfulwater.
April 15 – “Land, Language and Women: A Cherokee and American Educational History” presented by Dr. Julie Reed. Author signing to follow.
All sessions will be hosted at the NSU Jazz Lab located at 315 N Muskogee Ave in Tahlequah. A light lunch will be provided, however guests may bring their own lunch.
