TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation will host the tribe’s annual Volunteer Firefighter Appreciation Banquet at the Chota Center located in the Cherokee Casino Tahlequah on Thursday, May 11.
Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner, along with other Cherokee Nation officials will honor 136 volunteer fire departments across the reservation with the tribe’s annual contribution of $476,000 and present awards for Volunteer Fire Departments of the Year and Volunteer Firefighters of the Year.
Chief Hoskin will also make a special announcement during the ceremony.
