TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Cherokee Nation’s Male Seminary Recreation Center hosts an Oklahoma City Thunder Youth Basketball Camp on Sunday, Nov. 11, at the gym in Tahlequah.
The camp is open to Cherokee Nation citizens and will be held in two sessions. Session 1, for students ages 6-9 years, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Session 2, for ages 10-14 years, will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
“This camp is a great opportunity for our Cherokee youth to get active, have fun and learn skills that they can use both on and off the court, and we are so excited to welcome the camp and all participants to our facility,” said Julie Kimble, director of Cherokee Nation’s Male Seminary Recreation Center.
The cost per camper is $55 and includes an exclusive Oklahoma City Thunder Youth Basketball Camp T-shirt, water bottle and commemorative basketball. The camp will also include special Nike N7 giveaways.
During the camp, students will learn skills for both on and off the court, including life skills inspired by the sport. Students will also work on a variety of fundamental drills, such as defense, ball handling, shooting and passing.
This Thunder Youth Basketball Camp is presented by Cox Communications and will be hosted at Cherokee Nation’s Male Seminary Recreation Center, located at 1501 Graham Ave. in Tahlequah.
