Free show featuring American rock band at Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland
ROLAND, Okla. – The Romantics debuted in 1977 with their undeniable power pop and new wave vibe and are still rocking strong today. On March 16, they bring their late ‘60s Detroit rock sound to the Lee Creek Tavern stage, inside Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland.
The Romantics take the stage at 8 p.m. Local country favorite Lyle Parman and the Slide Bar Band is set to close out the show.
After debuting their independently written and released singles “Little White Lies” and “I Can’t Tell You Anything,” the band traveled the country to establish an audience. It didn’t take long. With the release of “Tell It To Carrie” and “First In Line,” the band’s stardom began to grow.
In 1980, The Romantics released their debut, self-titled L.P. The album was anchored by the single “What I Like About You,” which was the band’s segue onto the Billboard US Charts, landing the album in the Top 100 on the US Charts. Later that year, “National Breakout,” featuring “A Night Like This” and “Forever Yours,” was released.
The Romantics were soon back on the charts with their 1983 album, “In Heat,” which rocketed to No. 14 on the US charts and was certified gold in Canada. The fan favorites from the album include, “Talking In Your Sleep” which hit No. 3 on the US Billboard Charts and Top 10 hit “One In A Million.”
The band has excited fans worldwide with their celebration of four decades of music in their new tour and album release, “Up From The Rubble.”
