“Outlaw Love” comes to Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs Dec. 30

CLAREMORE, Okla. – The country and Americana sound of the Austin-based working man’s working band is set for the Dog Iron Saloon on Dec. 30.

The free show kicks off at Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs at 8 p.m. Travis Kidd is set to follow the performance at 11 p.m.

With a sound that is steeped in tradition and authentic to its country roots, Mike & the Moonpies currently hold the Texas music scene in the palm of its hand. The road dogs have now taken cross-country to share their music. The band includes frontman Mike Harmeier, Kyle Ponder on percussion, Preston Rhone on bass, Catlin Rutherford on guitar, Zachary Moulton on steel guitar and John Carbone on piano.

The band has released four studio records, one self-titled EP and one live recorded album. Their 2015 release “Mockingbird” includes fan favorites “Smoke ‘EM If You Got ‘Em,” “Say It Simply,” “I Don’t Love You” and “Miserable Man.”

Mike & the Moonpies recently released the already hot single “Outlaw Love” on Nov. 14 and two singles from their upcoming 2018 album, “Steak Night at the Prairie Rose.” The singles “Road Crew” and “Beaches of Biloxi” offer the warm shuffling cadence fans have come to know and love and have them eager for more.
