TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Heritage Center is hosting its annual SevenStar Gala on Oct. 28 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

The annual event recognizes those who promote the Cherokee National Historical Society's mission to preserve, promote and teach Cherokee history and culture.

This year’s honorees include America Meredith, Contemporary Achievement Award; Jack D. Baker, Stalwart Award; Cherokee Nation Color Guard, Warrior Award; and Osiyo-Voices of the Cherokee People, Tradition Bearer Award.

The gala also serves as the primary fundraiser for the Cherokee Heritage Center. The evening includes a vibrant silent auction featuring one-on-one art classes led by Cherokee National Treasures and an overnight stay in Cherokee Heritage Center’s Diligwa village.

In addition, nationally acclaimed Cherokee artists Roy Boney Jr. and Tom Farris will each demonstrate a live painting during the event, with the final pieces available for auction at the end of the night.
