Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs hosts Everclear, featuring guests Fast Ball and Vertical Horizon
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — A night full of fun and rock ‘n’ roll comes to West Siloam Springs Hotel & Casino on June 22.
The free Everclear concert, featuring guests Fastball and Vertical Horizon, begins at 7 p.m. in SEVEN Bar.
Everclear is an American rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1991. The band was formed by Art Alexakis, the band's lead songwriter, vocalist and guitarist, and includes Davey French on guitar and vocals, Freddy Herrera on bass and vocals, and Jake Margolis on drums.
It’s been 20 years since Everclear released their 1997 multiplatinum smash “So Much For The Afterglow,” yet the album is still a beloved fan favorite. It continues to inspire new generations of musicians and fans today.
The album remains Everclear’s best-selling release to date, as it quickly won over listeners with its trademark combination of melody, energy and lyrics.
Everclear’s So Much For The Afterglow Tour includes special guests Fastball and Vertical Horizon.
Fastball is an American rock band that formed in Austin, Texas, in 1995. Tony Scalzo plays bass, guitar and keyboard and sings vocals along with Miles Zuniga on vocals and guitar. Joey Shuffield commands the drums for the trio.
Fastball’s compilation album, “Step Into The Light,” encompasses such acclaimed albums as the bands 1996 debut, “Make Your Mama Proud,” and their 1998 platinum breakthrough “All The Pain Money Can Buy.”
With “Step Into Light” making it clear that their musical light still burns as brightly as ever, Fastball is entering a positive and productive period that promises all manner of musical riches.
The band Vertical Horizon was founded in the early 1990s, but it was seven years before lead singer Matt Scannell’s songs became the radio hits that brought the popular grassroots band to national attention.
In addition to writing and producing songs for Vertical Horizon, Scannell also writes songs for other artists. Various hits include Hey Monday’s 2010 “Wish You Were Here,” featuring Cassadee Pope, and “Come Back Home” with Daniel Powter for NBC’s “Chicago Fire” in 2012.
The band’s latest album was released in 2013. The title “Echoes From The Underground” is a lyric from their song “Evermore.” The album captures recurring themes throughout the record, as well as the often-hidden layers of emotion.
The roughly 90-minute set by Everclear will include other favorites from their back catalogue but feature “So Much For The Afterglow” in its glorious entirety.
